Climate change, flooding, landslides, extreme heat, and other disasters continue to threaten our communities because thousands of trees have been cut down without adequate reforestation. The protection and restoration of our forests is no longer an option—it is a shared responsibility. Every tree that is preserved and every seedling that is planted is an investment in the safety, health, and future of the next generation.
The Barangay San Isidro Persons with Disability Association (BSIPWDA) is leading a Community-Led Re-Greening and Reforestation Program through the establishment of an Indigenous Tree Nursery using innovative tree cloning technology for the mass production of high-quality native tree seedlings. This initiative empowers persons with disabilities through skills development, sustainable livelihood, and home-based employment while contributing directly to environmental restoration, biodiversity conservation, watershed protection, and climate change mitigation.
We call upon every citizen, community leader, landowner, government agency, private organization, and youth volunteer to become partners in protecting our environment. Stop the unnecessary cutting of trees. Plant more indigenous trees. Protect our forests. Restore our watersheds. Together, we can reduce the impacts of climate change, prevent floods and landslides, improve air quality, and create a greener and more resilient Philippines. Let us stand united in this movement because when we protect our trees, we protect our lives, our communities, and the future of generations to come.
